The White Cosmopolitan: How to Make Café Boulud Palm Beach’s Iconic Cocktail at Home
White Cosmopolitan cocktails alongside other colorful cocktails at Café Boulud Palm Beach, served with the restaurant’s signature orchid ice balls.
Icy cold, crisp and unique, the White Cosmopolitan is a signature cocktail worth ordering at Café Boulud Palm Beach, Chef Daniel Boulud’s elegant restaurant tucked inside The Brazilian Court Hotel.
A refined take on the classic Cosmopolitan, its pale, almost translucent appearance makes it as beautiful as it is refreshing — and a fitting taste of Palm Beach for anyone looking to recreate a little of the island’s polished dining scene at home.
I especially love to order it during our mild, pleasant Palm Beach winters. This drink reminds me of the importance of taking a moment to sit down with friends and truly enjoy a moment together during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
Ingredients
2 oz Stolichnaya vodka
1 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
3/4 oz white cranberry juice
1/2 oz lime juice
1 orchid ice ball*
Instructions
In a shaker, combine liquid ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a carafe. Place orchid ice ball in a martini glass. When ready to serve, pour contents of carafe over ice ball.
*Orchid ice ball: Place one food-grade orchid in a two-inch diameter ice ball mold, fill with filtered water to ensure a crystal clear appearance and freeze.
